Weird Virus. Can't open Google Chrome. Help?

Specs: Windows XP
Ok, I randomly got some pop-ups telling me "my computer is in serious risk" and I couldn't close them. Then the computer froze. I then restarted and my whole computer had the "Warning! Your're in Danger! Your computer is infected with Spyware" wallpaper. I got AVG and took 2 trojans off and it was gone. But now, I can't open google chrome. It is weird, I tried using it, sometimes it pops up and closes a second after and sometimes it doesn't open at all. I tried to reset and reflush through ipconfig but didn't work. I tried to restart the computer. Nothing. I'm on Mozilla now though. Also, my Rocketdock disappeared and I don't know where it is. I can't even find it in my Start Menu anymore. is going on? Can anyone help me? I don't want to restore my whole computer.

internet settings or your browser folder somehow damaged/changed either by accident, a program, an installation or malicious software (probably malicious software seeing as you got rid of some trojans). (lots of other explanations too.) look around in your chrome folder to see if anything has been changed. could just be a string of coding has been altered to closed after opening, if this is the case i suggest using a de-bugger or just downloading your broswer to set defaults.
