Specs: Windows XP
Just removed the srda64.exe virus and lowsec entries. Still getting redirected to various websites when I google search on both Mozilla and IE. No task manager entries pop out at me. I have abnormal amounts of svchost.exe running but everything else I can account for. nothing in msconfig also that shouldn't be running.

I've ran hijack this and cleared all suspicious entries manually.

Ran combo fix. Worked great but now windows apparently isn't
genuine. I havno idea what combo fix did but now I can't even
listen to music. I use to have the cd but I moved a few months
ago. Any suggestions?

For example because I apparently now have an invalid copy of windows xp pro I can't run WMP or any other microsoft products. I've already started to gather some third party replacements but its annoying. I do have a genuine copy installed and either the sdra64 or combo fix fubared something.

contact microsoft, they can help you if your windows is genuine. I can't see combofix causing that problem., in fact, never heard of that one, sorry.

Already did. They told me without my cd they can't help me. I doubt it was combo fix I've used it in the past. I did some googling and if the sdra64 virus isn't removed correctly it messes with some regedit keys. Can't find the specific keys but needless to say my cd key for windows was removed. So I'm out $200....

You are not out that much money, not for XP. What is the brand name of your PC? Is it a Dell?
Is it XP home or XP pro?
SP2 or SP3 (the origional disc)

use the number from the xp sticker on the computer tower or underneath the laptop, whichever it is. M$ should honor that number as it is origional.

and yes...Norton is useless.

If that doesn't work, send me a PM and I can probably direct you, BUT you must tell me if it is pro or home, sp2 or 3
