Specs: Windows XP
I'm running Windows XP sp3 and I have the vundo/virtumonde virus. I have thus far been unable to remove it using AVG, spybot, Symantec Trojan.Vundo Removal tool, or manually removing infected files. I have read several other posts, but it often says not to follow the instructions, as certain lines of code are written for each specific user. Could you help me get rid of this thing?

Also, I'm not sure if this related to vundo or not, but starting this morning, when I open task manager and highlight a process, it starts blinking; regardless of what process is highlighted.

Vundo is a trojan while Virtuemonde is a spyware. both work together. Vundo infects the pc and downloads and installs the virtumonde on the infected PC. than virtumonde spyware dose its job. i.e stealing and forwerding private info of the user. etc.

It's still there. I removed every visible trace of both vundo and virtumonde from my registry and system32 folder using both those manual methods, but i still get AVG warnings of vundo being detected in various processes (the latest was in svchost.exe). Any other suggestions?

Turn off System Restore, many people don't know that it hides in there...

Also, AVG will NOT delete vundo..

Start your computer in safe mode with networking, turn off system restore. Download and run both of these programs doing a FULL SCAN (check full scan, and also check every box after that), malwarebytes first, then superantispyware... Make sure to update them first!

I know 100% positively that these 2 programs working together will remove trojan.vundo and 99.999999% of any other virus out there.

Okay I did that, and thus far, no instances of the vundo or virtumonde malware have been found. I think that did it!
Thank you very much for your help!
