vpd.exe is blocking Malwarebytes from running

March 11, 2011 at 11:57:09
Specs: Windows XP SP3
It appears to be a part of the Trojan-BNK.Win32.gen virus. I can reboot in safe mode, but it keeps restarting even there if I try to run Malwarebytes, even a new copy from my flashdrive uploaded from a clean computer. I have tried system restore, but that was disabled and the only point is on after the infection started. Superantispyware did not detect anything when I ran it at the start of detection. I don't know what else to do. I don't have the system disks to wipe and re-install.

Unfortunately, I cannot seem to download rkill to a flash drive. All attempts say the file is in use or cannot be accessed. But, thank you.

Try the Rkill.com and Rkill.SCR downloads from the same site. The virus is trying to stop it loading.
