Vista 2012 shut down my whole computer, won't turn back on.

Specs: Windows 7
Hi- my desktop got the Vista 2012 virus. I downloaded the cleanup programs needed on my laptop, tossed them on a flash drive, and as soon as I plugged it into the desktop, the whole computer just shut down, blinked right off. Now pressing the power button to turn it back on does nothing. The power cable is still plugged in, the outlet is working, etc. There are no external issues. Anyone have a suggestion of what's wrong or what I could do? Thanks.

Are you trying to start the computer with the flash drive still plugged in? If so, remove it & try again. If you are getting no lights/fans etc. then it's a hardware problem - nothing to do with the virus & more likely an issue with the USB having shorted the 5v line in your system.
