Specs: Windows 7
My external hard drive is infected with a virus zcwirx.exe . I scanned the drive with bitdefender total security 2009 and on other pc running bitdefender anti virus 2010. They both picked up the virus and deleted it, but that did not solve the problem. When I try to open a file/ folder on the drive a window pops up saying:

Problem with Shortcut

The item 'zcwirx.exe' that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved, so this shortcut will no longer work properly.

Do you want to delete this shortcut?

Need help what should I do?

It looks like your file names have been added into a redirect shortcuts maybe? If that is the case I would recommend seeing if there are copies of your files that have been hidden?(In folder options). Also you can look at properties to see if the file zcwirx.exe that you are clicking on is a shortcut(this can be seen under oposite click and properties. Lots of times viruses will hide legitimate files and make shortcuts that link to the file.

The second possibility is that you have a incorrect file association. I would check out the first option though.
