Avg moved a virus 355.tmp to the vault and now the computer will not load any programs. I can't access avg. Only internet explorer 64 bit will run. I have to use run to get notepad to work. I have restored to two different points nothing works.

Thanks for your help!!

I tried to download hijackthis but it state that "installation directory must be on local hard drive" The path shows c:\program files (86x), I changed to the path to c:\program files and I tried just c:\

From the website it has installer and executable I tried both they do the same thing. Any ideas?

I'm so glad I don't use AV programs.
Not good advice at all!
Unless you are using something like deepfreeze on your PC...a user SHOULD use an antivirus and I would say Avast Free is about the best out there:

I didn't give anyone advice. I just said that I was glad that I didn't use them. I lock the registry instead.
