"I never intentionally went to that site ???"
You have installed a program that loaded it.

A lot of programs, now give you the choice to install toolbars & other during the install. Either uncheck these items during install, or use Custom install. No more click, click during an install, you have to read after each click.

Use Unchecky to help prevent these third party installs. Nothing is perfect, the badies are always ahead of the goodies, so be vigilant.

when I updated to the New version of Malwarebytes - it said - You're not fully protected- one or more Real-time protection layers are turned off - Manage protection settings- then when I clicked on this - I saw that all option were turned On except - Ransom Protection which I tried to turn On - but the slider to On -would not let me !!!!! will it still remove the threat Properly ??
