trojan horse generic 19.arel need info

October 25, 2010 at 20:41:29
Specs: Windows Vista 64x
Installing webcam software from sakar . straight from the cd, however avg claims that "Generic19.AREL" is a trojan horse. cant find any reason to see why it'd have one on the disc....

Anyway, it was found at C:\Users\me\AppData\Local\Temp\_TinDel.exe if that helps anyone.

So just to be clear, is this a trojan? is it bad? was it actually from the software cd? or is it a coincidence it popped up at the same time as i was installing?

it could be a false positive, send the info to AVG to see if it is harmful or not.
Many people are unloading AVG lately because of false positives.

You may want to unload it and give avast free a shot...much better real-time protection as well as automatic updates and no scheduled scans needed.

Thanks alot! I ended up letting avg get rid of the virus and installing the rest of the software from the cd worked to get the camera working *note for those looking to install the drivers from sakar's website - it does NOT work. they have the wrong or partial driver only. and YES they have a 64 bit version for vista, which they claimed not to have directly from the company when I emailed them. It's on the disc!
