trojan 'antivirus scan'

January 20, 2011 at 17:42:01
Specs: Windows XP
This virus tell me me i have an infected computer and do i want to buy its product. The desktop icon has a green shield in the center. The heading on the 'virus scanner' says [antivirus scan]. I have found the listing on the web to identify that it is indeed a recent variety of 'antivirus pro' and 'antivirus live'. It makes unwanted pop ups, sends me to unrequested sites and blocks most of the basic windows programs. I have run 'microsoft, AVG, and superantispyware to try to eradicate it. Microsoft and superantispyware recognize it as a trojan, say its removed, but it comes back. a program called [rkill] from a pc site stops it from issuing popups and blocking actions, but doesnt eliminate the problem.
