Total PC Defender 2010 virus

Specs: Windows XP
I seem to have gotten the Total PC Defender 2010 virus. I ran the Malwarebytes anti-malware in safe mode.......and in regular mode. I went to run.....and did ms config to disable it. I THINK...I manually deleted it off all three users on this computer ( you can log in under three different names). I still have the selective start up running now. I can't find a physical trace. I ran spybot........and it found infections on all three users..and removed them. However, my moving incredibly slow. If I try to take the selective start up off and run normal startup, the internet doesn't come up at all. I also emptied the recycle box on all three users. I'm not sure what else to do. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Did I post this correctly? Again, I tried to follow the write up on how to get rid of the total pc defender 2010 virus, but remnants appear to still be affecting the cpu. It's slow connecting to the internet. Once I'm on here, it's ok but I know it's that way due to that virus. Also, I still can't boot up with a normal start-up. Again, any help would be greatly appreciated.
