inspiron problems,

Is this happening in Linux, or in Windows?

Either way, what is the Linux Distro (Ubuntu, Mint, Fedora, etc.), or the Windows version?

Don't buy anything, though...

Retired - Doin' Dis, Dat, and slapping malware.

if possible you could, From a clean computer you can download and burn AVG rescue CD (

Once created boot from the CD by pressing F12 on your laptop and select DVD if it doesn't auto-start. Let AVG scan and repair your laptop.

or get hold of any antivirus on a CD as you cant use the internet might also work.

Last if you manage to get an anti-virus solution on and the internet works again download Malwarebytes (free) and do a scan to truly know if your free.

Or copy all your stuff to an external hard drive and re-install your Dell with manufacturer cds, put on latest anti virus and scan the external drive before copying the software back.

Boot into safe mode and see if youcan access the internet from there. To boot into safe mode .. reboot your pc and as it begins to boot back up begin tapping the F8 key in 1 second intervals. You should get a boot menu. Choose Safe Mode with networking.

If you can get online in safe mode .. Download MalwareBytes Antimalware (free) from the following link.

Install/Update and run a full scan .. once while in safe mode and once in normal mode. If you fine Mbam will not run in safe mode you will need to download and run RKILL .... before running mbam.

Post back after running mbam.
