Text vanishes/unable to access antivirus site

Microsoft Windows xp professional w/serv...

Specs: Windows XP
Basically, a week ago or so I clicked on a false link by mistake and my computer was hacked.

My hotmail password was changed (since retrieved) and thankfully I was able to stop bank cards etc before any damage could be done.

I'm not very computer literate and would GREATLY appreciate some support.

Firstly, text disappears on several programmes - Explorer, MSN etc..

Secondly, I'm unable to update my current virus scanners or download new ones.

This is a real concern to our family as we use the computer for both personal and professional use.

ANY SUPPORT would be gratefully recieved - I am at my wits end in trying to fix this and am not technically able to do it myself.

Thanks.

Matthew

You may have an unwanted keylogger installed (the reason your email got compromized. )
There are other cleaners if that does not work for you

Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers
