I have been having some problems with my computer, and I think I might have some sort of Malware or Sypware. I have Norton Antivirus and I'm pretty smart when It comes to keeping up with computer maintenance. I have anti virus on my PC (Norton). I also have a Fix It Utilities also (which doesn't do much). Is there any other programs or protection I should purchase. Here are the problems I have noticed.

- A Little yellow warning triangle on the desktop tray. ( I have tried to ask for help but can't get any)

- Firewall keeps turning off on it's own, and will not stay on

- Internet connection disconnects all the time, I have had no other problems with my other internet connected devices (i.e. Xbox 360, PS3, etc)

- Windows Explorer crashes a lot (Typically when I go open files or when I open my little USB thumb drive)

I have a second question too...My Norton subscription is about to run out at the end of month, is there a better alternative or should I sick with that? And one more quick tech question should I ditch my old Wireless G router and adapter and go for Wireless N?

My advice first is to dump Norton like a hot potato, it's not a good AV. Use the uninstaller from the norton site
http://us.norton.com/support/kb/web...
to fully remove it or no other AV will work.
Then my preference (been using it for 9 yrs now) is Avast Free.
http://filehippo.com/download_avast...
It will suit your purpose fine. After installing it, get Avast to do a bootscan and you will see all that norton was missing...move what it finds to the chest.

To clean your PC
1- Ccleaner slim
http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/bu...
2- malwarebytes
http://filehippo.com/download_malwa...
3- trojan remover
http://www.simplysup.com/tremover/d...
4- Hitman pro
http://www.surfright.nl/en/hitmanpro
Run all those till they run clean.

Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers

A bit harsh on Norton, I & many reviewers have a different opinion on the latest versions:

etc. etc.
