STILL suffering popup virus

January 27, 2012 at 11:16:30
Specs: Windows XP

As stated in an earlier post, my pc has been infected with a virus which causes popups (with random scam sites) to open in my browser as new tabs. These are incessant and very hard to close once opened.

Now, malwarebytes turns up nothing. Since the virus infected my pc, there are certain sites that my browser can't access (one of them being a site which can analyze the results of a hijackthis scan). So if there is someone here who doesn't mind having a look at my hijackthis log (or helping me in some other way), I would be very appreciative. Thanks!

Download Process explorer <>
and autoruns <>

1. Run the process explorer
2.Check for any wierd process,it should be highlighted, check for the publisher
3.If found, right click on select properties, goto the location.
4.Before deleting the file, kill the process from process explorer
5.Try to google and find about the process in threat expert

Do the same with autoruns.
