security tool problem accessing internet

Specs: Windows Vista
I have removed the security tool virus with the malwarebytes but am now having problems accessing the internet. I can only use Chrome to access gmail and then can not use internet explorer to access anything. Any ideas?

Does IE start? If so what error message comes up? Proxy? No connection.....?

Open IE, click on tools/internet options/connections/Lan Settings and then uncheck proxy server if it is checked. Close IE and open IE again to see if you can access the net.

The error message is "login.live.com" is not set up to establish a connection on port "World Wide Web service (HTTP)" with this computer

Omg! Thank you so much! Ive been a wreck since 4pm today and it's now 4 30 am and ive been working on mine non stop i came here & read your simple instructions and in less than 25 seconds i was connected! I couldnt tell you how thankful i am to you for the info. i have one questions tho: i done the scan bc i supposedly had the security tools virus i scanned several times and it said nothing was malicious or infected everything began to run perfectly actually better than b4 except my ie wouldnt connect until i read the info above. I want to ask should i still be worried? is a virus there lurking somewhere? what would you suggest i do; run a scan everyday to be totally sure? thank you so very much! if you have any suggestions for any further things i may need to do please let me know
