Searchqu keeps showing up in my browsers

Specs: Windows XP
How do I remove searchqu and is it a virus? I don't know how it got onto my computer. When I would open my googlechrome it would show up in the browser. It also showed up in my internet explorer browser. Thought I had it removed but I was watching carefully when I opened google chrome. It said "" in browser but I watched at the left corner of my screen as it flashed "" then redirected me to another search site. I had already uninstalled google chrome and reinstalled it after doing a system restore in safemode. I restored it to an earlier date. Does anyone know how to fix this or should I just leave it alone? Computer shop wants to charge me $79 to remove this. Thank you for any help.

Thank you. So far using the link provided by ijack I have done a more complete search of my hard drive and files that were hidden including things under Local Settings\Temp...resources\plugins\MSN... under Images Folders, with file being Bandootoolbar.xml, as well as a toolbar under the Images Folders, with file being BandooToolbar.xml and BandootoolbarV9.xml apparently with Yahoo at the end of the file name. I only found these after specifically inputting "toolbar" in the search box as these did not originally show up under my searchqu search. I would have thought being that the word "Temp" is in the file that these would have been deleted after clearing the cookies. I hope I am making sense. The search also revealed something called Windows\pchealth\helpctr...The toolbar for that was called RAservertoolbar. Anyone know what that is?
