There are a lot of versions of redirect, just a matter of trying the different tools. Once you have a name for the infection, Google it.

Is there something specific I should look/search for on my computer to determine what virus I've got? is it in the registry? I'm a novice but I follow direction well.

"Is there something specific I should look/search for on my computer to determine what virus I've got?"
Not at this stage, you have to hope a program removes the virus or if it can't, at least gives you a name.

"I'm running Trend Micro security"
Have you updated it & run a full scan?

Use Safe mode if it won't run in normal mode.

You should ignore response #6, he is a spammer and the link on the website he sends to is not a legitimate link.
