Search Engine Hijack

Specs: Windows XP
I need help: whenever I use Google or any kind of search engine, the links in the results are changed when I click on them from <www.2-spyware.com/browser-hijackers-removal> to <http://newserversearch.com/?q=search+engine+hijack+removal>. It's really annoying. Help?

download the free version ad-aware and do a full scan on the computer, which will take a few hours. Should resolve that.

you probably have a rootkit installed. Adaware is one of the weakest cleaners out there,

Try Trojan remover (remove all it finds) and then unhackme and be sure to use the beginners guide and clean it till there are no infections. Then you can uninstall both progs in add/remove.

Hopefully it is gone. If there is a rootkit installed it may come back on you ;-)
