screen is black

Dell Precision m65 notebook

Specs: Windows XP, 1gb
I know my computer got a virus, and I used many anti-virus's, and they deleted some infected files, but never got rid of the virus. When the virus runs the mouse pointer has purple lines (vertical) around it; and the screen flickers. I'm then forced to turn it off by holding the power button. And now after I went to safe mode, I can't even get the screen to work! When I turn it on the lights go on but the screen is black. I even inserted a mouse and it lights up. HELP!!!

update: I used another monitor and changed some settings so that my screen works now. Then I installed new windows. Wierld, there's purple lines across the screen and at bios, sometimes, thier's green lines. Next, after a few hours, I try to turn it on, but there's no screen... so I used another monitor again and it showed the screen, but with low detail. Is this a hardware problem???

update: After waiting 30 min, I was able to turn on and see the screen bios, which has green lines virtically across. I booted up, but with the usual purple lines. When I click shutdown, the standby button is unclickable.
