Specs: Windows XP
Microsoft Security Essentials keeps removing this "potential threat" and I restart my PC as it says and this "otential threart" keeps returning. This has happened 5 times tonight so far. Any help would be appreciated.

This could be a false positive. Check that essentials is fully updated.
In the case that it is a real threat that essentials cannot fully remove, download superantispyware free edition or portable. If you have time, run the full scan. Otherwise run the quick scan then run the full at a later time when you have more time.

Thanks for the information. I got rid of Microsoft Security Essentials and installed AVG free and my problem is solved. I always kept Microsoft Security Essentials up todate and ran a full scan once aweek. Thanks again, Tom

Another way would have been to exclude the file or its folder in MSE.

However, a quick look in Google lead me to believe it might be a scam, so MSE could be right.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
