Specs: Windows 7
When I got my computer, I made the login password protected. I want to remove the password and be able to just get on to my computer without a password. I cannot locate the help through the computer.

You need to do this from user account in the control panel.

Here is a guide:

✔ Best Answer
Windows login password?

Go to Users Account (Start > Control Panel > User Accounts)
Click "Remove your password" and follow directions. (enter your current password).

Personally I don't think it is a good idea to remove passwords from accounts, especially if you have administrative rights. Anybody can switch on you PC and gain access to your data.

Whether you need a Windows password or not depends on your circumstances. In my case for instance there is only my wife and I about so I've not bothered to invoke a Windows password on any of our computers. If a lappy is stolen then you would need more than a Windows password to protect it.

Obviously if there are people in the house you want to keep out then a Windows password would be a deterrent to anyone who is not tech savvy.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Removing user passwords requires you already need to be inside the OS?
