Specs: Windows 7, 1.999 GHz / 3892 MB
I get redirected when I click on links, it takes me to a site with multiple ad links on them containing what I originally searched for. If I go back and click the link again then I am able to go to the correct website. How can I fix this? my antivirus hasn't found anything out of the ordinary...
BTW, I am using Google Chrome. I don't like firefox nor IE

There is probably a rootkit installed on your system. Run

and malwarebytes from safe mode.
only restart when all three done.

Google for the three programs, rkill, tdskiller and MalwareBytes (all are free).

Install all three programs (MalwareBytes will want updates - which is fine). Note how to access these programs afterwards.

To get in to Safe Mode tap the F8 key while booting. Select Safe Mode from the list. Eventually you will see your desktop (although in this mode it will look rather different).

Run each of them in the order given (do not close Rkill until the rest have completed). Let MalwareBytes remove all it finds.

It is OK to run then from ordinary Windows but they are more likely to clear your issue if done in Safe Mode as this limits the number of running processes, which is why it was suggested.

If the above is not clear then either pop back with your queries or seek hands-on assistance from someone.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

TDSSKiller is the way to go. But you will most likely need to rename the program before you can run it. Most of these rootkits can detect and block the program from running just by name. So you should name it something random and at the .com on the end to get it to work. There's also another guide here that shows how to do this process manually Removing the Google redirect virus
