|First, I couldn't install programs I downloaded. That's how I determined I had a problem. I thought it was just one program and was the fault of the software, but I tried others and got the same. I can see that the processes are running, but no window opens up. Given that, I tried to run a virus scan (Norton 360) but the scan wouldn't start. I tried other scans with the same result. So, I started in safe mode (with networking) and have been running Norton 360, Malaware Bytes, and Microsoft Safety scanner, to name a few. Good news is that they all start and run, but bad news is that so far, no virus or issue has been found. |
I am running with administrative privilege - my account is an administrator.
Any ideas on what could be going on? Should I be looking in a different direction?
