Problem starting rpcqt.dll

June 19, 2011 at 08:24:08
Specs: Windows 7, Intel Core 1.3
On Thursday night, when closing my computer, there were Windows 7 updates (15 of them). When I woke up on Friday morning, it was stuck on update 7. I had to close my computer and reopen it. I went into microsoft updates and successfully got all of my updates. On Saturday morning (yesterday) I cleaned my registry using Norton Utilities. I got a message for an update for Adobe. After the update it told me to restart my computer, which I did. When I opened my account, I got a message stating the following:

Problem starting c:\users\account name\appdata\local\temp\rpcqt.dll - the specified module could not be found.

What is this and how do I get rid of it.

Shows the variations of your problem.

To remove the infection run these in the exact order
1- rkill.exe (will kill the malware process)
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/for...
2- tdss killer (will remove the hidden rootkit if found)
3- malwarebytes
http://www.filehippo.com/download_m...
run a full scan and fix all it finds
Reboot your PC and see if the problem persists.

Now download Ccleaner Slim
http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/do...
Run the cleaner deleting all it finds, then click on the registry icon on the left of it and delete everything it finds.
That is an extremely safe cleaner and i would not suggest using the norton registry cleaner, you may delete something vital to your PC .

Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers
