Specs: Windows XP
I received e-mail to my Google mail account from a friend with a link
When I clicked on the link, Computer shut up and tried to re-start but kept coming with the message:
Problem signature

This is Dell laptop with Windows 7. I have tried to go through suggested options: Starup repair - it didn't work, then "System Restore" - restored sucessfully from a few days ago but again PC couldn't start. What should I do?
The bad link that I tthink, has caused the problem has "/google.php" at the end.

Are you getting a message as to which file is corrupt?

Retired - Doin' Dis, Dat, and slapping malware.

No, it doesn't say which file is corrupt but I suspect it is something to do with corrupted Windows startup (or signature) file.

My problem was fixed in 10 minutes by ESET whose antivirus I am using. I called them and they connecetd to my hard drive from the damaged Laptop and fixed the problem. I earlier purchased an external device for my hard frive and attached it to another working computer. They were very helpful.
