Porn sites redirecting to other porn show up in history?

Specs: Windows 7
Will multiple hits from porn pop ups show up on history? My husband goes on bit torrent sites, and he says there are tons of popups from porn sites, and he x's them out. Looking at the browsing history, it looks like he clicked on specific videos on that porn site and many pages of the site. Could that be a redirect cookie or something?

Some porn sites do re-direct you. Any page which loads (ie any web address which goes into the address bar either manually typed in or put their automatically) will be recorded in the browser history.

I would also like to bet your hubby is being "economical with the truth". He's actually watching some of that stuff. Telling the wife it's all coming from pop-ups and re-directs is a classic excuse. They think their wife will be too dumb to understand what's really going on.

You're probably right, and I was totally convinced of that until I started looking into all of these practices of people working as affiliates who get kickbacks for clicks. What about the cookie stuffing and auto clicking or click fraud? Could it be possible a lot I'm seeing in the index.dat files could be due to these practices and not clicking on all these videos? He was totally guilty until proven innocent in my book, and now I'm wondering if I was wrong.

Appreciate your feedback.

If you want to get shot of them:

1. Download, install, update and Run MalwareBytes freebie.

2. Download and install CCleaner Lite and Run that too.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
