popup survey windows on firefox

July 8, 2013 at 07:34:28
Specs: Windows 7
Similar to problem that computerperson May 14, 2013 had in this post http://www.computing.net/answers/se...

Almost anyplace on the screen that is clicked it will bring up random surveys instead of what you thought you were clicking for. Tried the first few fixes but that did not help.

Have you installed a pop-up and ads blocker in Firefox? If not, the most popular one is AdBlock Plus: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fi...

Now Malwarebytes stops it from "opening fully" but it still opens a new "tab" on the browser and does not open the page that it should have, I then can click the same place on the screen and get the page I originally wanted.

I see you ran MalwareBytes. Try running it in Safe Mode, it is able to do much more from there.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

MalwareBytes people don't recommend running it in Safe Mode. What program would you recommend running in safe mode?

Re #6

Perhaps I should clarify. Yes normal Windows and MWB Quick Search are usually quite sufficient. However, if you have already done so I have found that repeating it in safe mode is worthwhile. Even if it only highlights what it has found but cannot fix it then the log it produces could still yield l useful information. It does no harm if you run it in Safe Mode.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
