Thank you, thank you! After weeks of not being able to get into my acct I logged in under safe mode with commands. It brought up admin, my acct, & guest. I typed rstrui.exe into admin acct & that's as far as I got. So I went back & clicked onto my acct & typed rstrui.exe into the command prompt & it let me put in a restore date. I used one b4 the update. It worked. What a relief. Now I'm wondering do I do the updates to the computer including the day it wiped my personal info out. Thank you so much & I will be looking for your input.

Can you do a system restore to a date from before the updates? Here's some info on doing it from command prompt, if necessary.

I not sure if you can do that from a guest account though.

The link in #6 is just to the main dell site? not sure if this was an error? Otherwise it sounds like you are just advertising for dell?

Yeah, no links there. It defaults to dell.com. Maybe you tried to setup your own search page? You're trying to go through something called 'bitly' but apparently didn't set it up right.

If you do, probably just do the critical updates. And maybe just download and install one at a time. Keep any software running in the background to a minimum when installing the updates.

If you did it in error HopperRox, perhaps a moderator could shift it?

It'd be nice but the OP had a good descriptive solution too. And I've been given a few 'best answers' that I probably didn't deserve.

I did all the updates. Computer seems to be working great. I can't remember how I found it but the reason it crashed was something in my Mozilla. I uninstalled it & reinstalled it. So far so good. Thank you all for your help. I don't know if I responded on this forum the way it should be done. Never have used a site like this. I always just had someone fix it for me. ;))
