ok, this is long. My computer got the pc
defender virus on it. sooo i busted out the ole
recovery console cd and started to repair the
reg. long story short got rid of it finally after
hours of hair pulling. ran a malware full system
scan in safe mode and found about 287 hits,
fixed reloaded and lost my user account. then
on to user account recovory. my files from the
old profile where still on the drive so i copied
them over to the new one i created. ok. so far
so good. then i go to load quick books and get
a .net framwork error. well poop, then i go on
the hunt for a version i can dl, put it on get it
loaded and start quickbooks again with no .net
error message but still didnt load. so i look in
the add remove in my profile and the only thing
ive got in it is the things i had just put on!!! my
programs are still on the drive but not on my
profile whats the deal. can any help with this
one.? sorry so long trust me this has been a 2
day event and im tired.

It sounds as if you've done a partial reinstall - not too sure what
exactly you did repairing the reg from the recovery console, I
guess using the backups from the repair folder? Anyway,
chances are that by doing the partial reinstall you will have to
reload any programs you use, together with updates etc. As far
as the computer is concerned, they just aren't there I'm afraid.
