reboot your PC anf keep tapping f8....THEN choose safe mode with networking.
Run malwarebytes again and fix all it finds.

If that doesn't solve the problem (still in safemode) , download and then try these 2 fully working trials and run them till they run clean:
1- Trojan Remover
2- Hitman Pro
Once they run clean you should...USE THEIR OWN UNINSTALLER....not add/remove as it will not remove them properly.

What program was installed? Is is something that you can uninstall? If not (or you are not willing to do so), what site does it direct to. There are multiple possibilities and this would narrow it down. Knowing nothing at all, I would say reset your proxy server and hosts file. Run Malwarebytes.

Ok, Looks like a BHO, here is what I would recommend. (probably not super evil)

1.)switch your computer into safe mode, f8 during startup
2.)Download Malwarebytes http://download.bleepingcomputer.co...
3.)Allow malwarebytes to update.
4.)Remove what it finds, and it should ask to reboot.
5.)Post the log here, so I can see what else may be off.
