Specs: Windows XP Home Edition, 797 Mhz, 384 MB
I had to reinstall Windows and reformat my harddrive last week because after several attempts of trying to log in normal mode, I couldn't I tried many things and finally had to reformat and reload. I even reformatted the ghost partition.

Anyway, only a few days later Norton found the W32.Virut virus. The suggestion was to download the Symantec W32.Virut Removal Tool. I downloaded the tool, and followed the directions to the T. First I download the program, disabled System Restore and the restarted in SafeMode. The I ran the program. It searched the whole C drive and detected nothing! No Virus Found. So, I logged back in in Normal Mode and Re-Scanned with Norton. Again, Norton continues to find the virus. So I repeated the steps again and it the removal tool goes through a complete can and finds no virus! What can I do to remove the Virus. I don't want to have to reinstall Windows again!
