none of my browsers working properly except Mozilla

September 30, 2013 at 19:18:15
Specs: Windows 7

I have contacted the company I bought the computer from to confirm that this was not a hardware issue. It is definitely a software problem. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Google Chrome and Internet Explorer several times but they are not working properly. Is there anyway to debug them so that I can use them again? Is it a registry issue? I am lost and need help since I am trying to study for an exam and all my bookmarks are in Chrome!! Thanks so much for your help!

Download malwarebytes, install it, make sure it updates, and run a quick scan. Remove what it finds, if you are asked to restart, do it, and then try the browsers. Also what do you mean they are not working properly, describe not properly, they don't open or what??

Thanks for the reply! I ran another program called Adwcleaner and it seems to have made IE work better but Chrome is continuing to crash. It gave me an error message that said "settings have here to restart apps." Any advice on how to get Chrome working? This happened after I just reinstalled it post clean up from the malware scan. So lost!

After running Malwarebytes ( MBAM ) Copy & Paste the contents of the log & any other clean up log you have please.

Next, Run Junkware Removal Tool
Download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.
Warning! Once the scan is complete JRT will shut down your browser with NO warning.
Shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts.
Temporarily disable your antivirus and any antispyware real time protection before performing a scan. Click this link to see a list of security programs that should be disabled and how to disable them.
Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7/8, right-click JRT and select Run as Administrator
The tool will open and start scanning your system.
Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications.
On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
Copy and Paste the contents of the JRT.txt log please.
