Specs: Windows 7
no display after removing win 7 antivirus. i was getting win 7 2001 anitvirus popups and couldnt access anything so found instructions online to edit the registry to remove the virus. once done i updated software and ms security essentials, set a virus scan running and went to bed, next day pc is on but no display. tried another monitor thinking drivers for tv had failed and monitor did not work either. pc reboots and makes noises like windows starting but no picture.

thanks for the sarcasm - not a computer expert, hence asking for help. if nothing comes up on the monitor how can i see that i am opening in safe mode - if there is something i can do i would be happy to have you point it out?

yes, i have realised though that i had two video cards so switched to the other and working now, so the better card has just died and it appears to be a coincidence that it happened the day after i got rid of the virus. so i will just replace the other card when i get a chance. thank you for your replies. all sorted.
