Hi, machine running slow among other things. When I checked netstat found massive list of established under "State"
HelpLocal Address Foreign Address State
127.0.0.1:5354 www:49155 Established
127.0.0.1:5354 www:49156 Established
127.0.0.1:6039 www:51427 EstablishedFirst question is this normal, if not how do I fix?
Second what is the element on IP address after : i.e : 5354
Have looked or thought about blocking IP address but need direction.
Assistance appreciated, machine win Win 7 prof
Perfectly normal. I have more than 20 loopback connection established. 127.0.0.1:xxxxx is "loopback address : port" of your TCP/IP-stack
Skype and other applications use loopback address to communicated with other processes or applications.
The computername is "www" ??
Check Task Manager > tab: Processes and see if there is any process with a high CPU value.
Thanks for this inform so I should not be that worried seeing that many established foreign address TCP listsed? If home PC I take it should not need "Network protection enabled? As this was also suggested as a problem as currently disabled?
No, don't worry, when they are 127.0.0.1, as given (loop back) they do not communicate with the outside world. In effect they are blocked addresses, possibly contained in your Hosts file. No Network Access Protection is not essential for a home computer.
Why did you not continue with the response on your previous post (provide the logs) and start a new one instead? This post:
