Specs: Windows XP
Hello good people,

Recently my computer contracted an adware infection. The adware behaves in a manner to impersonate windows security center. This behaviour happens very frequently and I believe it is intefering with opening task manager. I attempted to install mb anti-malware since I had some success with this program on another machine but set-up would not initialize. I do not know how to analyze a HJT log and would appreciate any help anyone can offer. I have read numerous posts on this problem but I believe the process for removal is going to be different for each computer.

Thank you kindly

Hello again good people

I did some investigating and discovered my problem to be rooted by the "ave.exe" program. It was irritating to remove but not difficult. If anybody reading is looking for the solution, I urge you to read this page following all of the steps http://www.myantispyware.com/2010/0...

Thank you all
