Specs: N/A
Well I was downloading Photoshop and I looked up before I downloaded it that it was safe and about 19% of the way the laptop just shutdown and now it won't stay on long enough to even log out of administrator so is this because of a virus or is the battery pack just shot?

What happens when you try running it with the mains plugged in? Where were you downloading Photoshop from? - if it was a torrent site then I would immediately be suspicious of malware anyway.

When it's plugged in it still shuts off I actually got it to work, then I scanned the program but it said it was fine. So I scanned the computer and it said that there were no viruses or any suspicious software so I just cleaned the computer to make sure, and I dud this in all the profiles, but it still turns off so I now think that the battery pack is shot.

When plugged in it should work without the battery.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Hm, then it has to be the cable I guess.

Maybe, but I'm afraid there are other possibilities such as the charger or PSU.

We haven't eliminated Windows software either. If it has a CD you could boot from a Linux Live CD (such as Puppy). If it won't stay up on that it at least narrows it down to hardware.

Well I know it's not the charger because I used the same charger on my brothers laptop and it worked fine. The Laptop came with the windows XP installed.
