my computer wont function in normal mode

please help. i went to turn on my computer one day and after signing in to my account (administrator) the screen said welcome for longer than usual. then it just went blank, to a black screen but it was still on. i was tryin to clean out my keyboard to see if it had anything to do with that, but after hitting the space bar from underneath the screen started to turn on. i didn't get how that helped or if it even did, but just went with it. The computer started loading but after about 20 minutes, still was going slow and freezing up. there was internet but was too slow to load it. Then McAffee was saying my computer was unprotected and when i tried to hit fix problems, it wouldn't work either because there was an "error". I shut it off manally from the button, then turned it back on. I selected safe mode so I could at least access some things. I've been using this mode for a day now, including as I type currently, but want to go back to normal mode. im trying to go on windows defender but nothing is working. Even system restore is saying that i have to set a date before i restore, and obviously it's too late now. so if you're out there and know what problem im having, please respond with helpful information. PLEASE!! :(
