ms security essent alert

Specs: vista, no idea
Went to look up movies on MSN entertainment. Got Microsoft Security Essential Alert "Unknown Win32/Trojan in C:ProgramFiles\MicrosoftOffice\Office12\GrooveMonitor. on an exe (afraid to type it accurately for fear of invoking something here LOL). Ran 2 virus programs, says it's caught a bunch of stuff. But, can't get online. Can't get anything to do anything for getting online due to that alert continually popping up. Saw advice on opening IE to tools, Internet Options, connections, Lan setting to uncheck proxy server. Since the Alert is up, can't GET too tools to do this. When I somehow managed to go thru the HP Advisor, I saw where I could, so I got to proxy, but it was already unchecked. How to get back on IE and get this notice gone, please? I am on someone else's computer for the moment.

Thank you for replying. I ended up backing up my computer onto disks. Someone else mentioned bleepingcomputer.com and that combofix, and that seems to have done the magic, got my AVG & PCTools BACK UP and I got on IE again! Yay!! Thank y'all for your kindness!!
