you may want to uninstall McAfee using MCPR.exe from their website, then maybe try avast free (my choice) or AVG free as they are much better and not bloatware like McAfee

McAfee came with my new computer. I have found McAfee download site and have tried to restore the program, but the download gets so far then quits because a message comes up stating that I must delete a radial point in security center. What is a radial point?

is it a trial or is it free for you? Just because it came bundled on your PC doesn't mean you can't remove it and use something else.
