Hi,

Which spyware you were using previously?
Try running spywareblaster application after disabling all the background processes. (other than windows process)
Then run Malwarebytes and check it.

I was using SuperAntispyware. Just did what you recommended and Malwarebytes returns 0 objects infected. This has been pretty typical though for about a 10 minute period before popups begin re-appearing.

I'll keep my fingers crossed.

you may have a hidden rootkit problem

Try running Trojan Remover and Hitman Pro and remove all they find.
Once they run clean you can uninstall them in add/remove

Been about 30 minutes after using combofix and problem seems to be gone! Thank you for the info and I'll post up later if that goes awry for any reason.

Thanks for posting back, I would suggest that you put Spyware Blaster
http://www.filehippo.com/download_s...
into your arsenal, just use the free version and update it every 2 weeks or so ;-)
It works fine with any other progs.

Also, what AV are you using?
If Norton or McAfee, I would suggest maybe you try Avast free, much better and better real-time protection.
Be sure to use the respective uninstallers from their websites if you unload them. If you don't use the uninstallers, they will still be stuck in the registry and no other anti-virus will work properly

I'm using AVG Free 8.5, SpyBlaster is now in the arsenal, and SuperAntispyware.

I've used Avast in the past but moved to AVG. I'm open to your input on recommendations.

I appreciate the help. It's been a few hours and things seem to have sped up with my system and no symptoms that I was seeing regarding popups and redirections.

Thank you.

if you had the other mentioned AV's installed before AVG, I would suggest you run the cleaners as mentioned
