Hey guys,

Recently I was browsing the internet and than suddenly I heard "CONGRATULATIONS YOU WON 1K WALMART GIFT CARD"!!!!!111!!1!! Now at that moment I thought to myself "Great now I'm gonna have some spyware" Well my intuition was right. I have been scouring the web looking for answers (opnening multiple tabs messes it up). I have tried anti spyware, AVG, Spyware, Malware removers (malware bytes) and so far nothing has really worked.

Sorry I feel as if I have left some information out. I use Mozilla Fire fox as my browser, and google is my main search engine. It seems to happen after I use a search engine, Other times it makes itself a tab and has some random advertisement. I dont think and hope its not super malicious and that its just a way of "advertising"

I am having the same issue. No scan seems to pick up the spyware, but IE redirects to a website with the url:
<a href="http://holidaycontest.s3.amazonaws.com/home.html"
and there's a popup window that states:

Message from Webpage
Congratulations! You have been selected to win a $1000 Walmart Gift Card or Apple iPhone 4 and iPad. Read below for details.

There is an OK button.

This happens every time I open IE. It does not happen with Chrome at the moment. I am running Windows XP.

I have the same problem since the last 3-4 days... tried running malwarebytes, symantec antivirus... malware bytes catches couple suspicious items... i ask it to delete them.. it says it did so and asks me to restart my machine... but then i get the pop-up again ... i get two pop ups .. one that says " i have been selected to win $1000 walmart gift card, or iPhone 4 or ipad" and another that says "Find your school - www.myeduConnect.com" ...
seems harmless .. just annoying.. but cant seem to get rid of it.....
Please help...

I had the same problem begin about a week ago with Internet Explorer. I did everything I could to get rid of it and even blocked that site. It just presented another site in its place "redeemyourprize" that would not block for whatever reason. A few days ago I switched to Firefox, but it only took until today for this problem to migrate over there.

I researched a whole lot more today and ended up using TDSSKiller from Kaspersky. It seems to have cleaned up the problem on both browsers so far and it was free.

I have been running without a problem on both of them for about 5 hours now. This problem was driving me nuts, so I hope this helps otheres out there with the same problem.
