Keyboard and Mouse Disabled

December 4, 2010 at 07:29:37
Specs: Windows XP
I recently did a full system scan with Avast and found 8 issues (4 Trojans, 3 adware, and 1 virus). Avast deleted all issues and system seems to be working fine except, after my computer sits idle for a while my keyboard and mouse stop working. When I reboot my machine, keyboard and mouse work fine until the computer sits idle. I use a bluetooth keyboard and mouse as well as a PS2 keyboard and USB mouse. All interfaces are effected. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

There might be some viral remnants still kicking around. Firstly, download, install, update and Run MalwareBytes freebie and see if that finds anything.

I would also check any power saving settings (such as hibernation).
