Specs: Windows XP, windows XP
My virus protection had ran out and I got a virus on my laptop, I tried to go in and restore the computer (which it would not let me). Now it keeps rebooting over and will not let me go into Safe mode either. My main concern is getting my pics out of the computer, thanks for any suggestions

You should download Linux Live CD;

ftp://ftp.slax.org/Linux-Live/linux-live-6.3.0.tar.gz

Once you burn the image to a CD-ROM, boot from the CD and copy your images to a USB Stick....

Also, if you have XP CD, you can perform Win XP repair installation, so you can backup your pictures....

In the both cases, after you backup your data (in this case, pictures), I suggest to perform Win XP Clean installation....

I tried the original cd's that I got when I bought the computer, the driver's and utility and the operation system. Neither worked, still rebooting after Windows XP page shows

Boot your computer with windows xp cd, select R to enter windows xp repair console, check if 1 c:/windows/ or c: . If is only c: then type this, fixboot and press enter, press y to comfirm.

But if c:/windows is what you see then press 1 to select the windows and type this chKdsk /r.
