I'd suspect hardware. Some issue with the keyboard or parts of.

"I'd suspect hardware."

Agreed. There would be little "fun or profit" for a virus-writer to create such, and given that machines are so cheaply made today, it's likely a keyboard-related issue. Being a laptop, you'll likely need to take it to a service-tech.

Its wierd, however I have seen three posts on this same issue in the last week, just a continuous d being typed, going to do a little more looking. I would still pop the key and check / check with an external keyboard.

This is not a hardware problem. It is happening to me right now. Whenever I type certain keys on my keyboard (I'm using a laptop) the number 6 on my numpad is automatically typed multiple times. I am able to type this now since I have turned off the numpad. The problem with turning off my numpad is that the right arrow key gets spammed. I have tried disabling my 6 Numpad using KeyTweak and even though this prevents me from using the numpad 6, whenever I press D or some other keys, that 6 issue persists. I have scanned my system using McAfee and Avira Antivirus and they show no viruses.

Ok, get me a list of your startup items and a list of running processes. I wish teamviewer was allowed here, it would have made such processes much easier.
