Is repdump.exe malware?

Specs: Windows XP SP3
Hi I get multiple instances (often 8) of a program called repdump.exe running on my machine during start up. This uses 100% of the CPU capacity for up to 10 minutes and of course the machine becomes unusable. The program disappears from the Task Manager list when windows finally starts. Any advice gratefully received. Thanks.

P.S Does anyone know of a program that will tell me which of the various windows software modules are genuine?

I recommend Malwarebytes as a double check scan when you are not sure your antivirus program cleaned out everything. And I recommend Process Explorer from Microsoft to be able to see more information about processes that are running, and decide what to stop. It is best to scan when these suspected processes are not running, or in safe mode (where they shouldn't be able to start).

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
If all else fails, read instructions.
