I have Windows 10 Home OS on my laptop. Windows Security/Defender is a part of it. Technically, is this Equally or MORE Efficient than Norton, McAfee, etc. Anti-Virus software? If Yes! In what ways? Please explain.
Norton and McAfee are system hogs. Windows Defender s recommended over them by many here.
I prefer Webroot Secure Anywhere, it is good and it is light on system resources and as important is that it does not bug you. It just does its job without pop ups, downloads that tie up your internet, and reminders. You almost forget it is there until you click on a really bad link and you get its page on your browser telling you it is a really bad idea to go there (only seen that page twice in many years).
Because no protection is 100%, 100% of the time, I keep Malwarebytes Free Version (manual scans only) in case I suspect something is around. You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
I used Bitdefender Free for quite some time but recently switched to Kaspersky Free. Both are highly rated. Like Fingers, I have Malwarebytes Free & occasionally run manual scans. Adwcleaner is another product (recently acquired by Malwarebytes) that's highly recommended. https://www.tomsguide.com/us/best-f...
