Solved Is Netzero dsl prone to virus

Specs: Windows XP
I have used a variety of A/V software, contantly update definitions, remove spyware yet after about 3 months wind up with a virus. I have reformatted my HD at least 10 times to make sure the virus is removed but always get another. I was wondering if my ISP Netzero DSL could be lacking in data security and perhaps be prone to viruses. (Its very inexpensive and perhaps you get what you pay for?) If anyone can shed some light on the subject or have had similar experience with Netzero, I'd appreciate your feedback.

There really isn't a great deal that an ISP can do to protect it's customers from viruses. All they do is provide the connection to the Internet. Protection from viruses and other malware is your responsibility.

A high risk Internet activity is the use of torrents.

I would suggest that you install Avast Free:
IMO possibly the best AV on line today, allow it do do a bootscan on reboot and move all it finds to the chest.
