Specs: Windows 7
I am having trouble installing McAfee Antivirus was asked if I have Javascript installed on my computer; how do I check to see if I have Javascript installed and properly working?

Use this this to completely uninstall Java.

Use IObit Uninstaller

Do a Standard Uninstall & then the Powerfull Scan to remove all the lurking bits.

Javascript is set in your browser. This explains the settings for popular browsers:

For Internet Explorer javascript is enabled as the default.

Java is a completely different thing - rather confusing use of terminology that's all. You can do most things without Java but it is hard to survive without javascript. Just for info see these explanations:
