Solved ie9 wont let me add adobe flashplayer

December 21, 2013 at 05:22:13
Specs: Windows 7
Recently been having lots of ie9 related problems. First was inprivate browsing that appeared on every web page and stopped me opening pages, I eventually found a program to turn it off in the registry. After that I found my adobe flashplayer was gone.. tried to update/download it again only to be told I must disable internet explorer first. So it seems I'm left with uninstalling ie9 altogether? as I need a Flashplayer on Youtube etc. Prior to all these problems I installed a new modem which seemed to let some bad viruses onto my PC, the worst of which was something called Bubbledock - which I eventually managed to delete, but i'm wondering if it's caused all my ie9 problems?

Lets check what's lurking.

Download OTL from any of the following links and save to your Desktop.
http://itxassociates.com/OT-Tools/O...
http://oldtimer.geekstogo.com/OTL.exe
http://www.itxassociates.com/OT-Too...

Double click the OTL icon to start the tool. (Note: If you are running on Vista or Windows 7 accept UAC alert)
When the window appears, underneath Output at the top, make sure Standard output is selected.
Select Scan all users
Change Drivers to All
Under the Extra Registry section, check Use SafeList
In the lower right corner, checkmark "LOP Check" and checkmark "Purity Check".
Click Run Scan and let the program run uninterrupted.
When the scan is complete, two text files will be created on your Desktop. Copy & Paste the contents of both logs in your next post please.
OTL.Txt <- this one will be opened
Extras.txt <- this one will be minimized

If any of the logs are too large, upload them using this. I upload to Imgur.com for images & load.to for files ( neither need an account ) Give us the link please.

I suggest you install Google Chrome and use that instead of IE.
Flash Player is built-in to Google Chrome & it's updated automatically in the background. Get Google Chrome here:

Very likely to be the virus or its aftermath. Best check that out with #1 first.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Hi John, Many thanks for your info - ran the OTL scan as you described and got a lot of info! none of which I understand.. so I'm wary of making it public viewing on this site I guess. But here are all the copied lines with the aforementioned probable virus names.

I did a deep scan with Malwarebytes that found 1788 items of malware! all relating to Bubbledock I assume. So I removed them and also some hidden registry entries with that name. Since then I've had no further problems but still not certain I've eradicated all traces..
Best Regards
Tom

Thanks Tom, do need complete logs.

MBAM has probably done most of the job, but I doubt you are completely clean.
The contents of the log is needed & you can find it here.
Do a search for malwarebytes or look in here.
C:\Users\Pete\AppData\Roaming\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs
Replace Pete with the User's name.
